Job summary

Antillean Marine Shipping Corp in Miami seeks a Deckhand to support safe towing, line handling, and vessel upkeep. This non-liveaboard role requires physical work, teamwork, and strict safety adherence. Relocation or reliable commuting to the vessel is required.

Prior deckhand or maritime experience is a plus, and flexibility for long hours, including nights and weekends, is expected. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous maritime or deckhand experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Basic knowledge of vessel operations and maintenance.
• Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends.
• Valid TWIC or ability to obtain.
• MMC with endorsements preferred.
• Basic Safety training: First Aid, Fire Prevention and Firefighting, Survival at Sea, CPR/First Aid (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Line Handling & Mooring Operations: Handle mooring and tow lines during docking, undocking, and towing operations.
• Vessel Maintenance & Housekeeping: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the deck, hull, and superstructure.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow maritime safety regulations and company policies; participate in safety drills.
• Cargo Handling & Support: Assist with loading and unloading parts and materials as required.
• Watchkeeping & Navigation Support: Stand watch and monitor navigational aids and signals.
• Communication & Teamwork: Collaborate with captain, mechanic, supervisor and crew; report hazards promptly.
