Qualifications

  • Able to tolerate long hours during transfers.
  • Able to read and write.
  • Able to communicate with crew, Captains, Pilots, Wheelman, Dispatchers, Port Engineers, Coast Guard Inspectors.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for operation of company vehicles.
  • Ability to make good decisions and work under pressure.
  • Be a dependable, conscientious team player with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vessel maintenance including cleaning, scraping, painting, oil changes, and cooking.
  • Inspect vessel conditions and report safety concerns to the Captain.
  • Assist in training newly hired employees.
  • Handle lines and rigging during tow building, locking, and docking.
  • Work in a rotation schedule (6 on/6 off) and long shifts as needed.
  • Live in close quarters for long periods during vessel rotations.
  • Wear required safety gear at all times and comply with safety rules.
