Job summary

Callan Marine seeks a Deckhand to support deck and placement area duties aboard dredges and boats. Responsibilities include rope handling, pump and cutter cleaning, painting, and pressure washing, plus site work on shore and placement areas.

The role requires open water experience, the ability to work away from home at remote locations for extended periods, and strong safety compliance. Reports to Leverman or Dredge Captain.

Qualifications

• Requires prior deckhand/laborer experience.
• Open water experience is required.
• Experience operating anchor barge winch equipment.
• Must comply with safety rules and regulations.
• Must be able to work away from home at remote project locations for extended durations.

Responsibilities

• Handling of ropes and cables on dredge/boats.
• Cleaning of pumps/cutters using small hand tools.
• Keep equipment neat and organized (ropes coiled, gear cleaned, painted).
• Assist in installation of pipelines over water and onshore.
• Maintain housekeeping on floating equipment and placement areas.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Participate in Safety and Environmental initiatives.
