Job summary

Livestock Nutrition Center is seeking a hardworking, safety-focused Deckhand in Keota, OK. You will assist with barge movement, operations, maintenance, and safety, with daily movement of barges requiring regular scheduling and on-call responsibilities.

The role involves coordinating with the boat captain, handling lines and rigging, and performing maintenance tasks while ensuring all safety procedures are followed. English proficiency and a willingness to work outdoors are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to work outdoors in all weathers and on water.
• Must pass USCG color vision test.
• Background/drug checks required.

Responsibilities

• Switching and fleeting of barges.
• Transferring and laying rigging.
• Handling lines, including splicing and throwing lines.
• Standing lookout.
• Assisting in making locks and bridges.
• Operating boat and barge winches.
• Securing vessel and barge(s) to docks.
• Build, break, and check tow in all weather conditions.
