Job summary

Accutrans in Pasadena, TX is seeking a deckhand to assist vessel tankermen and the captain with operations and the loading and discharging of heated liquid tank barges in the Corpus Christi Harbor.

The role includes housekeeping aboard the vessel, cooking and cleaning, maintenance of vessel and deck, lubrication of machinery, painting, and handling lines. This position may require living aboard a vessel for extended periods in the Corpus Christi, TX area.

Qualifications

• Must hold a TWIC or obtain within 30 days.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol test.
• Must be capable of lifting and moving heavy objects.
• Ability to pass a physical/drug screen and background check.
• Deckhand experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist vessel tankermen and captain with operations and loading/discharging heated liquid tank barges.
• Perform housekeeping duties aboard the vessel, including sweeping and washing inside and outside the vessel, cooking and cleaning, maintenance and lubrication of machinery.
• Paint vessel and deck, handle lines and tying up the vessel.
• Conduct vessel/barge maintenance tasks as needed to keep equipment in good condition.
• This position requires living aboard a vessel for an extended period in the Corpus Christi, TX area.
