Associated Terminals, LLC in Convent, LA seeks a Deckhand to support crane operations, rigging, and vessel handling. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on maintenance, with training provided and PPE supplied.

You will secure barges, inspect rigging, perform routine upkeep, and assist crane operators with signaling and line handling, while upholding company safety standards and a strong work ethic.

Competenze

• Knowledge of crane operations and maintenance preferred.
• Experience with hand tools and basic rigging.
• Commitment to safety and cleanliness standards.

Mansioni

• Manage lines and cables to secure crane rigs to and from barges/vessels
• Conduct inspections of cables and rigging components on the crane deck
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment and machinery
• Provide directional signals to crane operators
• Operate barge covers
• Perform general rigging and shifting of barges
• Ensure cleanliness and safety standards on decks, barges, and ship holds
• Work with hand tools
• Perform painting and general upkeep of the crane rig
• Maintain crane shack/quarters
• Report incidents through company’s reporting protocol
• Support company safety initiatives
