Centerline Logistics seeks a deckhand to maintain tug and barge readiness, perform tow operations, and assist the Captain, Mate, and Engineer. Duties include line handling, signaling, steering, fueling, vessel cleaning, and galley work. Training in Tankerman PIC endorsement is provided after one year.

The role requires safety awareness, English communication, and ability to work in variable weather and confined spaces on vessels along the West Coast and inland waterways.

Competenze

• USCG AB endorsement required.
• Must have first aid certificate.
• Must have CPR training.
• Complete HAZWOPER training within 90 days of hire.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Residency in Washington or Oregon preferred.

Mansioni

• Deck must be cleaned and free of lines; make up tows as directed by captain or mate.
• Use the radio and communicate with crew.
• Knot tying, line/wire splicing and handling heaving lines.
• Make up and throw heaving lines; perform lubrication services.
• Properly tie off barge tows; give signals and information.
• Steer the tug; fuel the tug; paint tug interiors/exteriors.
• Load supplies; perform galley duties as required.
• Obtain Tankerman PIC endorsement after one year of employment.
