Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a Dean of Students for our Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond, ideally starting this summer. This is a 12-month leadership position. Please review the requirements carefully before applying.
Base Salary: $88,500-$103,500
Hours: 7:15am-3:45pm (with some additional later nights)
Empowerment Academy is a dynamic, successful charter school supporting its teachers and staff across three campuses, with BelovED as our sister school. We serve a highly diverse student body in Jersey City, Hoboken, and NYC. Since its founding in 2015 with grades K-1, the school has expanded each year and will serve grades K-10 in SY24-25, with three academies.
The school is divided into academies—Primary, Upper Elementary/Middle School, and High School—each led by a Principal, Academic Dean(s), and Dean(s) of Students. Deans of Students maintain a safe, orderly environment and foster a scholar culture that promotes academic excellence and social contribution. They collaborate closely with their Academy Dean and Principal.
Responsibilities include implementing positive discipline, supporting classroom management development, and developing student life activities aligned with Empowerment’s vision.
Report to the Academy’s Academic Dean and/or Principal, collaborating with teachers, student support staff, and leadership team members. May also lead professional development, coaching, and scheduling tasks.
