Job summary

The Lighthouse for the Blind in New Orleans is seeking a Deaf Services Program Specialist to support, coordinate, and advocate for DHH individuals under LCD contract. The role ensures access to resources, reduces communication barriers, and promotes independence.

Responsibilities include managing the Hearing Aid Program and TAP, coordinating appointments and interpreters, maintaining records, preparing invoices, and participating in outreach to grow referrals and awareness of accessibility

Qualifications

• Education credentials as stated; some college preferred.
• Experience with Deaf/HH community desired.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Proficiency in MS Office and scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate LCD program services, appointments, and interpreter scheduling.
• Prepare monthly invoices and ensure timely payments to contractors.
• Maintain accurate records and program documentation.
• Conduct needs assessments and refer clients to resources.
• Engage in outreach and education to raise program awareness.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure service consistency across regions.
