Job summary

WORK Inc. in the Boston South Shore area is seeking a Director of Residential Services (Deaf Services) to lead programs serving Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals. The role ensures language-accessible, person-centered services and promotes independence and community inclusion.

The director will supervise house managers, manage budgets, coordinate with clinical teams, and maintain compliance with DDS, CARF, and agency standards; includes on-call coverage.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field or Bachelor’s degree with supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory background.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals.
  • Knowledge of Deaf culture and commitment to culturally responsive services.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and supervision to house managers and program staff.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and development of staff, with an emphasis on ASL communication and cultural competency.
  • Ensure implementation of Individual Service Plans and compliance with DDS, CARF, and agency standards.

  • Serve as liaison with families, guardians, and community partners.
  • Provide on-call leadership and emergency coordination.

Position: Director of Residential Services (Deaf Services) - Fluent in ASL

WORK Inc. seeks a dedicated and culturally competent Director of Residential Services (Deaf Services) to lead programs serving individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across the Boston South Shore Area.


This leadership role oversees residential group homes supporting 21 individuals and Independent Living Services for 6 individuals. The Director will ensure high-quality, person-centered services that are linguistically and culturally accessible, promoting independence, dignity, and full community inclusion.


Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, including on-call responsibilities


Salary: $72,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience


Key Responsibilities
