ASL Program Director - Residential Services

Looking to Make a Difference? We’re Hiring a Program Director for Our Swampscott, MA Residential Home!

This role requires fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a genuine understanding of Deaf culture, as you’ll be supporting individuals who communicate through ASL and thrive in a culturally Deaf environment.

Schedule: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday (Full-Time, 40 Hours)

Pay Range: $30.33-$31.33

Job Summary: The Program Director oversees the daily operations of a Northeast Arc residential home, ensuring high-quality supports for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. This role provides leadership to program staff, ensures compliance with Department of Developmental Services (DDS) regulations, and upholds Northeast Arc’s mission of promoting dignity, respect, and empowerment for every individual served.

Major Responsibilities:

Provides responsive, person-centered residential supports and leads staff in creating an environment that prioritizes dignity, respect, and empowerment.

Completes all required documentation accurately and on time, including ISP documentation, Health Care Records, HCSIS entries, Incident Reports, Weekend Notes, House Profiles, Vacation Memos, staffing schedules, and service reports.

Provides all required staff trainings and ensures team members possess the skills needed to effectively support individuals.

Actively participates in Residential Meetings, Clinical Meetings, JAMM meetings, QAs, and other required agency meetings. Participates in agency trainings and committees as assigned.

Completes billing, payroll, and other administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner.

Builds strong interpersonal relationships with staff, fostering a supportive and appreciative team culture.

Interviews, hires, trains, and schedules staff to meet required staffing ratios. Facilitates staff meetings, provides on-site supervision, and supports staff performance.

Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA strongly preferred
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) with a deep understanding of Deaf culture
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of three years prior experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities or within human services.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to work at a desk/computer in an office environment and physically be able to provide direct support to individuals in their homes. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for periods of time, push wheelchairs, and provide physical intervention as necessary and lift and/or transfer individuals.

This position includes a combination of office-based work, on-site support in residential homes, and community-based activities.
