Job summary

Ross Stores seeks an experienced Distribution Center supervisor to manage production and distribution for assigned areas and lead DC staff toward on-time, accurate processing of merchandise to stores. The role emphasizes coaching, daily prioritization, and maintaining productive, compliant operations in a warehouse setting.

The position requires 5–8 years of retail DC leadership, strong communications, planning, and interpersonal skills, with a preference for bilingual candidates.

Qualifications

• Strong communications skills (oral and written).
• Minimum of 5–8 years management experience in a similar retail production/distribution environment.
• Strong planning and organizational skills are necessary.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Routine deadlines; travel or other inconveniences may have advance notice.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff to ensure timely and accurate processing and distribution of merchandise to stores.
• Ensure quality of work and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the production records, reports and numbers.
• Establish area objectives and coach Area Supervisors to reach productivity goals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day problems and plan long-term resolutions.
• Provide Area Supervisors operational guidance in organizing daily work and staffing needs.
• Create an effective team culture and maintain an issue-free environment in a demanding work setting.
• Coach Supervisors on MAP—Managing Associate Performance and conduct regular staff meetings to align priorities.
• Oversee administrative tasks for responsible departments and coordinate with Human Resources on staffing matters.
• Research inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to boost productivity and quality.
• Guide supervisors in performance evaluations and maintain daily paperwork like time and production records.
• Interface with senior DC leadership on production planning and staffing needs.
