Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot is hiring an Area Manager I for the Distribution Center on the second shift (Tue-Sat). This role leads an operations team within a DC zone, directing workflow to drive efficiency, safety, and cost control in a high-volume environment.

The position requires leadership and experience in large-scale DC operations, with a focus on data-driven decisions, cross-functional collaboration, and standardizing practices across shifts.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience leading and managing teams.
• Experience in large distribution center operations or logistics.
• College degree in supply chain, management, or logistics preferred.
• Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience using data to influence business decisions.
• Strong computer skills including Google Docs/Sheets/Slides and Drive.
• Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen experience preferred.
• Spanish bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead hiring and disciplinary actions for the DC team.
• Coach teams to meet productivity, quality, and accuracy targets.
• Manage performance reviews and provide feedback.
• Develop schedules and assign workloads for efficient operations.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and foster a safety culture.
• Standardize shift practices across DC areas in collaboration with management.
• Evaluate shift performance against OKRs and implement improvements.
• Ensure timely and accurate DC operations with warehouse data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed.
