Job summary

Designer Brands is seeking an experienced Operations Area Manager to lead tactical distribution center activities in New Jersey, supervising a team of 15–20 and coordinating with cross-functional partners to achieve daily execution excellence.

The role requires hands-on DC experience, strong WMS familiarity, and a track record in process improvement on a 2nd shift. Strong leadership and communication are essential in this front-line leadership position.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
4+ years in supervisory/management roles overseeing 15+ associates in distribution.
Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management System(s).

Responsibilities

Oversee subordinates and multiple activities within a department and/or shift (Receiving, Case Pick/Putaway, Case Loops, Order Processing, Shipping, Ship Sort, Inventory Control, Wave Management).
Coach, train, and supervise department leaders; provide ongoing coaching to subordinates.
Coordinate with Facilities Manager on safety, security and building control.
Manage transactions, exceptions, planning, and distribution flow within the facility.
Prioritize and monitor order completion to meet deadlines.
Track productivity to meet company standards.
Communicate with internal/external customers on operational activities and resolutions.
Build and maintain relationships across departments and vendors.
