Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL) is seeking an Area Manager to oversee a defined zone within our Distribution Center, leading an operations team and directing the workflow to ensure efficient day-to-day performance, safety, and cost control.

This role requires strong leadership, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional collaboration with management to standardize shift practices; bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of leadership experience in large distribution/ DC operations
• Degree focused on supply chain, management, or logistics preferred
• Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders required
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, documents, presentations, and Google tools required
• Lean Six Sigma experience and Kaizen improvement background preferred
• Spanish language ability strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach an operations team within a DC zone to meet productivity and safety standards
• Develop and manage schedules, assignments, and workload for efficient operations
• Evaluate shift performance against OKRs and implement improvement strategies
• Ensure timely and accurate DC operations with data validation (wave/floor reports)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize practices across the DC
• Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
• Maintain compliance with federal/state safety regulations
