Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL) is seeking an Area Manager I for its Distribution Center in North Kingstown, RI, on second shift. You will lead an operations team, drive daily performance, safety, and cost controls in a multi-department DC environment.

The role requires 6+ years in DC leadership, strong data skills, Lean Six Sigma, and bilingual Spanish preferred; cross-train across DC functions, develop schedules, and coach staff to meet OKRs and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of leadership experience in large DC operations.
• Experience in logistics or supply chain.
• Degree in supply chain or logistics preferred.
• Experience communicating with stakeholders.
• Proficient in spreadsheets, documents, slides, and Google Suite.
• Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen preferred.
• Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Willing to cross-train across DC operations.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and work in a DC environment.

• Lead and assist with team member hiring and discipline.
• Coach teams to meet productivity, quality, and accuracy standards.
• Manage associate performance and conduct reviews.
• Develop work schedules and oversee assignments.
• Maintain safety compliance and promote a culture of safety.
• Standardize shift practices across DC areas.
• Evaluate shift performance against OKRs and improve operations.
• Ensure timely, accurate DC operations with data validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed.
