Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a relevant background.
• Typically a minimum of 8 years of experience in Db2 for z/OS.
• Experience in installation, customization, testing and maintenance of database systems within a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Planned and managed Db2 for z/OS databases, including base definition, structure, documentation and security controls.
• Performed testing of database software, utilities and fixes in sandbox prior to production rollout and migration to production.
• Developed database configurations and sandbox environments to meet business requirements.
• Collaborated with application developers to apply best practices and minimize impacts to users.
• Mentored less experienced DBAs in routine administration tasks.
• Scheduled backups and executed disaster recovery exercises.
• Monitored performance and performed tuning and statistics reporting.
• Troubleshooted with Applications Team to resolve failures and support implementations.
• Produced and maintained operational database documentation and recovery plans.
