Job summary

Gastroenterology Specialists Middle Tennessee is seeking a full-time office coordinator to support CPT/ICD coding, scheduling, and patient workflow in a daytime, Monday–Friday schedule with no nights or weekends.

The role requires coordinating OR time, scheduling with facilities, ensuring credential verification, and maintaining HIPAA and compliance standards across patient care activities.

Qualifications

• High school degree preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
• BLS may be required as per practice standard.

Responsibilities

• Obtains CPT and ICD-10 codes and other clinical information as required for treatment of the patient from practice staff; seeks assistance from practice and facility coders as determined through practice and family processes
• Determines OR time needed for the procedure and coordinates with Facility to schedule; ensures anesthesia coverage as determined through facility processes
• Verifies physician credentialing at the Center of Facility before scheduling the patient
• Coordinates provider clinic and facility schedules, including time-outs, travel, meetings, and continuing medical education
• Supports HIPAA compliance and other Ethics policies as required by HCA
