Job summary

IU Health is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside care and help patients with daily activities. The role includes assisting with meals, mobility, baths, and linen changes while maintaining a compassionate, safe, and efficient care environment.

The PCA will collaborate with registered nurses to monitor patient condition, record vitals, and communicate changes promptly. A background in acute care and BLS certification are preferred; daytime shifts are available.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks, assist with meals, and help with walking and baths.
• Refresh linens and gowns; maintain a clean patient environment.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse.
• Assist with safety measures such as gait belts and alarms to ensure patient safety.
• Support brief tasks and transitions while maintaining patient comfort and dignity.
