Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care on a full-time day shift (three 12-hour shifts per week, 6am–6pm). The PCA will assist with activities of daily living, mobility, meals, and linens while supporting the bedside RN with vital signs and safety monitoring.

The role emphasizes a fast-paced environment, strong interpersonal skills, and adherence to infection control and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) through the AHA or completion of the IU Health PCA education program.

Responsibilities

• Provide activities of daily living and mobility assistance.
• Monitor and report vital signs and changes in patient condition to RN.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort with gait belts, alarms, and hands-on supervision.
• Keep patient surroundings clean and orderly and assist with meals, drinks, and linen changes.
