Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
• Knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patients served.
• Up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities.
• Requires proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Requires ability to handle high stress and maintain concentration amid interruptions.
• Requires ability to read and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care to patients, including helping with meals, drinks, walking, baths and linen changes.
• Assist with vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse promptly.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts and alarms and stay within arm's reach during care.
