Job summary
Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the perioperative team. You will evaluate patients preoperatively, educate patients and families, and ensure safety through preoperative medications and site verification.
You will work within a collaborative interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based nursing care. This role requires an active RN license and nursing degree, with ACLS/BLS/PALS within specified timelines.
Qualifications
- ACLS must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- PALS must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- RN license or diploma.
- Associate Degree, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
- Provide patient and family education for perioperative care.
- Prepare patients including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications.
- Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
- Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care.
- Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
- Apply the nursing process with critical thinking and leadership.
- Assess patient condition and document changes during shift.
- Educate patients and families about condition and follow-up.
