Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room to evaluate patients preoperatively and guide them through the perioperative process. You will educate families, manage IV therapy and medications, and verify surgical sites to ensure patient safety.

You will be part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, including surgeons and surgical technologists, providing high-quality, evidence-based care while adhering to universal protocols and ongoing workflow improvements.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• BLS/ACLS as required by OR.
• Experience in perioperative or acute care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients preoperatively and ensure readiness for surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about procedures and perioperative care.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, meds, and site verification.
• Participate in surgical time-out, briefing, debriefing, and safety protocols.
• Monitor patient condition during shift and document changes accurately.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and techs to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
