Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Day Surgery PRN opportunities. The role centers on perioperative care, patient education, and collaboration with surgeons and staff.

You will assess patients pre‑op, prepare for surgery, participate in site verification, monitor during shifts, and educate families. On-call is required during select non-business hours; ACLS/PALS within 1 year, BCLS within 30 days, and RN degree required.

Qualifications

• RN licensure and active status.
• ACLS within 1 year of employment start date.
• PALS within 1 year of employment start date.
• BCLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN degree/diploma required (AD/BS).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education for peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, and OR team.
• Apply nursing process, clinical judgment, and leadership in care.
