Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post Coronary Care Unit at the New Brunswick main hospital. This telemetry unit handles adult cardiac and medical-surgical patients with a focus on comprehensive assessments, medications, and education.

The role requires an active NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS, and at least 1 year of med/surg-telemetry experience. ADN is required, BSN strongly preferred. Day shift, 36 hours/week, with a competitive hourly pay range.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing (required).
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (required).
• ACLS certification required.
• 1 year of medical/surgical-telemetry nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and provide hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for timely, coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families to promote understanding and readiness for next care phase.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC) to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to smooth transitions of care.
• Engage in a collaborative team environment and pursue ongoing professional growth.
