IU Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) for a full-time day shift to support bedside care. The role involves assisting with meals, hydration, mobility, baths, and linen changes, while working closely with the bedside RN to monitor vitals and report changes.

Qualifikationen

• Current BLS certification through the AHA or completion of the IU Health PCA program.
• Knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served.
• Up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities.
• Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to withstand a high level of tension and stress.
• Ability to maintain concentration amid interruptions and variable noise levels.

Aufgaben

• Provide drinks and assist with meal ordering.
• Encourage walking and assist with baths.
• Provide clean linens and gowns.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts, bed and chair alarms, and staying within arm's reach during movement.
