IU Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside care for patients in a fast-paced unit. Responsibilities include assisting with meals, mobility, and daily activities, while monitoring vital signs and reporting changes to the RN.

Ideal candidates demonstrate compassion, strong communication, and the ability to stay calm under stress. The role emphasizes safety, infection control, and teamwork within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Requires Basic Life Support certification (AHA) or completion of PCA education program.
• Knowledge of care appropriate to age and developmental level of patients.
• Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to withstand stress and maintain concentration with interruptions.

Responsabilités

• Provide bedside patient care and support to RN.
• Assist with meals, hydration, mobility, and daily activities.
• Monitor patient status and report abnormalities to nurse in charge.
• Keep patients safe using gait belts and alarms and maintain aseptic technique.
