Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside care in a fast-paced environment. Duties include assisting with meals, mobility, hygiene, and linen changes, while monitoring vital signs and reporting changes to the RN.

Requires current Basic Life Support certification and a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Night shifts (three 12-hour shifts per week) are available with competitive pay and an outstanding benefits package.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or to be attained per IU Health PCA program.
• Experience assisting with meals, bathing, ambulation, and comfort of patients.
• Ability to obtain and report vital signs and changes to RN.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care activities under supervision of the bedside RN.
• Assist with meals, ordering, mobility, hygiene and linen changes.
• Utilize safety measures (gait belts, alarms) and stay within arm’s reach.
• Communicate patient needs and changes to the nurse in charge.
