Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care and support to patients. The role includes assisting with meals, hygiene, and mobility, while collaborating closely with registered nurses to monitor vital signs and report changes promptly.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a caring bedside manner, be able to work in a fast-paced hospital environment, and adhere to infection control and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
• Knowledge of care appropriate to the age/developmental level of patients.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.

Responsibilities

• Assist bedside RN with patient care and vital signs.
• Provide meals, fluids, baths, and linen changes to patients.
• Use safety measures (gait belts, bed/chair alarms) and stay within arm's reach.
• Report changes in patient condition to the RN or charge nurse.
