Job summary

Avera Flandreau Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide routine patient care and support services under the direction of nurses and physicians. You will assist with daily activities, monitor patient needs, and help maintain a safe, clean, and compassionate care environment.

The role offers a 48-hour biweekly schedule (12-hour day shifts) with every third weekend/holiday. A High School diploma or GED and CNA certification are preferred; 16+ age requirement applies, and benefits are

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification preferred/licensing required.
• Must be able to perform patient care tasks and assist with daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, feeding, and basic care tasks.
• Responds to patient call lights and helps with personal items and valuables.
• Greets patients and visitors, answers inquiries, and assists with messages and deliveries.
• Assists with mobility, measures intake/output, and supports transport of patients as needed.
• Answers phones, operates paging, and supports department communication during emergencies.
• Coordinates outpatient appointments and prepares patient charts and forms.
