Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires current BLS certification through the AHA.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care.
• Ability to follow unit policies and safety procedures.
• Ability to withstand high stress and interruptions.
• Ability to read and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Assist bedside RN with vital signs and report abnormalities.
• Provide drinks, assist with meals and linens; support mobility.
• Encourage walking and patient engagement.
• Maintain patient safety using alarms, gait belts and monitoring patient load.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care at the bedside.
