Job summary

GlobalFoundries seeks a Maintenance Technician for its Malta, FAB8 site. The role focuses on monitoring, sustaining, and improving semiconductor equipment and processes, with preventive and corrective maintenance, and collaboration with production teams and area engineers.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalently, plus a 2-year technical/associate degree or military training, and 4+ years in semiconductor facilities maintenance, English fluency, and ability to work in a

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree (or equivalent).
• 2 Year Technical/Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing or related discipline or equivalent military training/experience.
• Experience: At least 4 years direct experience in semiconductor manufacturing or semiconductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenance.
• Experience: Or 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent military experience.
• Travel: Minimal travel.
• Language: English (Written & Verbal).
• Cleanroom environment experience per semiconductor protocol/requirements.
• Able to lift equipment/tools above 50lbs with two-person lift when required.
• Flexible to work any shift (3-4 days alternating weeks).

Responsibilities

• Monitor, sustain, and improve equipment and processes in the assigned area.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on tool sets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment-related issues using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills.
• Communicate status updates to Lead Tech/Engineer and perform end-of-shift pass downs.
• Support and engage in training activities.
• Ensure safety and compliance with all EHS&S policies.
