Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking a Surgical Technologist to anticipate surgeon needs, assemble supplies, and maintain aseptic technique during procedures. The role requires strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced OR environment.

Ideal candidates have a Surgical Technology program background with an emphasis on instrument knowledge and the ability to multitask while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and informs the circulating nurse.
• Assembles all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures.
• Maintains aseptic technique and takes corrective action for breaks in technique.
• Supervises team members and assists with orientation and training of new personnel.
• Supports efficient operating room turnover times and room management.
