Job summary

Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, including every other weekend and holiday. Starting rate is $18.50 per hour.

Essential duties include cleaning nursing units and patient rooms, following cleaning and disinfecting procedures, and restocking carts. Candidates must have a HS diploma or GED and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Solid work history required.
• Fit testing requirement.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean nursing units, patients' rooms, and designated areas including floors, woodwork, vents and furniture.
• Follow cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization policies.
• Handle major spills and respond to pages promptly.
• Clean and restock housekeeping carts at end of shift.
• Remove trash and linen from hospital areas.
• Prepare cleaning solutions and handle bio-hazard materials safely.
• Perform periodic checks for environmental needs in assigned areas.
• Report repairs to maintenance and keep management informed.
• Attend monthly department meetings and stay updated on procedures.
• Handle moderately complex issues and refer more complex ones to higher staff.
• Clean bodily fluids as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
