Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Hours are 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, including every other weekend; starting rate is $18.50 per hour.

Responsibilities include cleaning nursing units and patient rooms, following cleaning and disinfecting protocols, restocking carts, handling bio-hazard materials, and reporting repairs. HS or GED required; must lift 50 lbs and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Ability to bend/push/pull/lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean nursing units, patients' rooms and designated areas with appropriate equipment.
• Follow cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization policies.
• Clean major spills and respond to pages promptly.
• Clean and restock housekeeping carts at end of shift.
• Remove all trash and linen from the hospital.
• Prepare cleaning solutions and handle bio-hazard materials as directed.
• Check environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Report repairs to maintenance.
• Attend monthly department meetings.
• Handle moderately complex issues and refer complex ones to higher-level staff.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
