Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician for night shift to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs in a Data Center operation. The role is part of the Critical and Technical Services function and involves daily site inspections, responding to BMS alarms, and coordination with vendors.

You will complete PM and reactive maintenance, ensure safe environmental conditions, and provide timely maintenance records. Training and adherence to safety and regulatory standards are required.

Qualifications

• Training in a technical discipline with apprenticeship or equivalent and 1–2 years of job-related experience.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the role.
• Ability to present information clearly to internal teams and clients.
• Follow basic work routines and standards in applying tasks.
• Strong communication skills for straightforward information exchange.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and inquisitive mindset.
• Basic math skills for simple calculations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and equipment.
• Ensure environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and ensure compliance with processes and laws.
• Alert management if subcontractor performance falls short of requirements.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance on equipment.
• Check BMS for running/alarm conditions and address HVAC client issues.
• Conduct facility walkthroughs and take meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utilities.
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and document maintenance records.
• Complete required training and follow defined procedures under supervision.
