Job summary

The Chefs’ Warehouse in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Day/Night Shift Customer Service Representative to listen to customer issues and offer timely solutions using product knowledge and company policies.

You will handle calls, emails, and order entry, support AR/AP tasks as needed, build strong customer relationships, and work closely with Inside/Outside sales and the warehouse team to ensure accurate, friendly service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher required.
• Minimum 1 year in customer service/sales required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English; Spanish a plus.
• Food experience a plus.
• Strong technology and computer skills required.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Self-motivated, able to multitask and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming calls from customers, emails, fax, voicemail, and enter orders into the system.
• Run production reports as requested by the warehouse team.
• Inform customer of items not ordered or out of stock per regular ordering process offering substitutions where available.
• Work with outside sales team reporting irregularities and issues. Direct phone calls to the appropriate team members.
• Assist Inside Sales team with administrative functions.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Deal professionally on the phone and in person with customers, vendors and fellow employees. Cooperate with other members of the sales and production team to ensure the customer receives an excellent level of service.
• Assist with processing special orders and customer price lists.
• Run credits as approved by management.
• Assist with AR/AP functions.
• Attend sales meetings and take part in sales activities as needed.
• Additional projects or tasks may be assigned as needed.
