Crawford Electric Supply is seeking a Director of Datacom to lead datacom solutions, build a regional go-to-market team, and secure manufacturer partnerships across eight states. The role blends strategic planning with hands-on execution, shaping inventory strategy and cross-functional collaboration with branches, sales, and purchasing to fuel growth.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in datacom, structured cabling, or related distribution.
• Proven track record building or scaling a business unit or sales team.
• Established relationships with datacom/low voltage manufacturers.
• Experience with contractors, integrators, and end users in datacom/low voltage.
• Strong negotiation skills with manufacturer and vendor partners.
• Proven ability to recruit and build sales teams across multiple markets.
• Willingness to travel across an 8-state territory.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build the go-to-market team for Crawford’s datacom solutions across major metro markets.
• Identify, pursue, and secure manufacturer authorizations and distribution agreements.
• Design and implement a datacom inventory profile aligned to regional demand and stocking goals.
• Partner with purchasing and branch ops to determine SKU strategy and distribution logistics.
• Develop a go-to-market strategy targeting datacom contractors, integrators, and end users.
• Collaborate with branch managers, outside sales, marketing on positioning and demand-gen.
• Report segment performance, pipeline, and strategic initiatives to executive leadership.
