Job summary

AMD in Austin or Houston, TX is seeking a proactive Field Applications Engineer to support OEM partners with new product introductions and debugging across GPUs, CPUs, and related tools in datacenter environments.

You will reproduce issues onsite, work with internal teams, develop experiments, and build scaffolding software to accelerate debugging, while presenting findings to customers and serving as a trusted AMD advisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience with server architecture and GPU architecture, including debugging/validation.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server environments, compilers, benchmarks, and validation workloads.
  • Experience developing low-level server-based applications or validating hardware components.

Responsibilities

  • Reproduce complicated customer issues onsite at AMD.
  • Work with internal engineering teams to debug and root cause issues.
  • Develop, set up and analyze experiments to collect data for debugging.
  • Set up test harnesses in Software & Hardware to collect low level debug logs.
  • Develop scaffolding software to assist in debug activities for internal and external use.
  • Package workloads and customer test cases for internal debug teams to reproduce issues.
  • Drive internal debug activity by acting as issue coordinator when needed.
  • Deliver customer presentations, serving as trusted advisor to AMD’s OEM partners.
