Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in Austin, TX is seeking a Lead Systems Debug Engineer to drive system bring-up, validation, and debug of next-generation datacenter GPU platforms. You will lead root-cause analysis and coordinate across hardware, firmware, software, and networking teams to ensure production readiness.

The role requires hands-on debugging of HW/FW issues, deep GPU knowledge (PCIe, HBM, retimers, power systems, SoC subsystems), and strong leadership for mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in system-level or SoC debug, validation, and triage.
  • Experience debugging complex HW/FW issues in datacenter environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system bring-up, validation, and debug activities for datacenter GPU platforms.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware, firmware, and software issues.
  • Develop validation plans, debug processes, and technical documentation.
  • Perform hands-on board-level analysis, including power, electrical, and system validation.
  • Collaborate with architecture, software, firmware, and hardware teams to ensure platform readiness.
  • Mentor engineers and foster collaboration and operational excellence.
