Job summary

AMD is seeking an experienced system level debug engineer for the Datacenter Platform Engineering Group in Austin, TX. You will work on Data Center deployments and ensure uptime for many systems, handling complex HW/FW debugging across GPU/SoC layers. Strong leadership is required to guide junior engineers and document debug flows.

Experience with electrical/power probing and a deep understanding of GPU/system level HW/SW interactions is essential; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Experience debugging complex HW/FW issues; understand GPU flow through system layers.
• Ability to validate items connecting to GPU SOC (PCIe, VRs, RMs, retimers, HBM, internal networking).
• Hands-on data center hardware experience; communicate across code-stack owners.

Responsibilities

• Debug/triage, root-cause analysis for complex issues.
• Understand GPU/system level HW and SW flows.
• Probe board sections; measure currents and validate systems.
• Apply RAS knowledge to GPU-level issues.
• Lead and guide junior engineers toward root-cause solutions.
• Document bring-up, boot-up, initialization and debug flows.
