Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team in support of a Modernized Data Science Platform for a Federal customer. The focus is on requirements analysis, business process improvement, and data-driven decisions to support IT transformation and modernization.

Essential duties include designing Databricks-based solutions, refining data models, promoting code to production, and building ERP-derived data models and reports. A DoD Secret clearance and 6+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
• 6+ years of related work experience.
• Strong Python and PySpark development experience.
• Experience with Dev/Ops and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Knowledge of cloud architectures (AWS/Azure) and ERP data sources.

Responsibilities

• Design new solutions using Databricks to meet business requirements.
• Analyze and design modifications to existing data models.
• Promote code into production and verify results.
• Build data models and reports from ERP and legacy data sources.
• Define test cases and ensure solutions function as designed.
