Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Science Consultant to support our Army Client. You will design data solutions using Databricks and Palantir Foundry, modify data models, define test cases, and build models/reports from ERP data.

You will coordinate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specs, work cross-functionally, and ensure solutions are robust and well-documented. DOE experience and active clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands on development experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and Pyspark.
• Experience in data engineering, data science and analytics; not a Cloud Full Stack role.
• Familiarity with Databricks and Palantir Foundry.
• Knowledge of database design; relational and non-relational databases.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and document work.
• Knowledge of cloud vendors (AWS/Azure).
• Software engineering practices (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging).
• Proven ability to work independently and share knowledge (code reviews, documentation).
• Driven, self-directed, mission-focused.

Responsibilities

• Design new solutions using Databricks (SQL, Python, Pyspark) and Palantir Foundry to meet business functional requirements.
• Design modifications to existing data model solutions as needed.
• Define test cases and verify results to ensure solutions function as designed.
• Build data models and reports using data from ERPs and legacy systems.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to determine reporting requirements and translate them into technical specs.
