Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to design, deploy, and support data protection across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will work with Microsoft Purview, ForcePoint, BigID, and Varonis to implement DSPM and DLP controls while collaborating with senior engineers to enhance security policies.

The role requires 5+ years in data protection, information security, and cloud deployments, with 3+ years in programming languages and scripting (Python, PowerShell).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Data Loss Prevention.
• 5+ years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis.
• 5+ years of experience with deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software.
• 5+ years of experience with creating and managing DLP policies.
• 3+ years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, BASH, PowerShell).
• 3+ years of experience with designing and supporting architectures across GCP, AWS or Azure.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST CSF, NIST, PCI, ISO 27001/2, COBIT and ITIL.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain components of the data protection infrastructure across platforms.
• Collaborate on design and implementation of data protection solutions across on‑prem and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Configure and maintain data protection policies, including sensitive information types and detection tuning.
• Troubleshoot data protection incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Contribute to projects with testing, implementation, and documentation.
• Develop scripts in PowerShell and Python to improve deployment efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members to expand data protection knowledge.
• Stay current with data protection technologies and compliance requirements.
