Job summary

WEX, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer 2 focused on Data Engineering & Data Architecture in Boston. You will own data pipelines and CDP data models powering marketing segmentation and customer journeys, acting with independence on modules and data models.

You'll collaborate with engineering, analytics, product, and business teams to align definitions, drive a single source of truth, and mentor junior engineers while applying CI/CD and automated data quality practices.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in data engineering or data warehousing.
• Strong Snowflake data modeling and staging experience.
• Hands-on dbt project design, testing, and version control.
• Familiarity with Salesforce Data360 / DataCloud ingestion and mapping.
• CI/CD automation and data quality gates experience.

Responsibilities

• Own data modeling and pipeline engineering for CDP.
• Manage dbt lakefront project structure and model ownership.
• Define feature-level architecture decisions and ADRs.
• Collaborate across engineering, analytics, product, and business.
• Lead demonstrations and mentor junior engineers in reviews.
