Job summary

Dow is seeking a Data Governance Analyst-style professional to support enterprise governance practices, maintain governance artifacts, and improve data quality across business domains. The role collaborates with business and technical teams to ensure consistent, usable enterprise data assets.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with attention to detail and experience documenting metadata, data lineage, and data ownership while applying governance standards across contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant or 5 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, analytics, or a related field
• Foundational understanding of governance concepts, metadata, and data quality management
• Experience working with business and technical stakeholders to support data-related efforts
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Responsibilities

• Execute established data governance processes, policies, standards, and controls
• Support enterprise governance initiatives through the completion of governance activities and deliverables
• Follow and apply governance methodologies, templates, and best practices
• Create, maintain, and update business metadata, technical metadata, business glossary entries, and data catalog content
• Document business definitions, data ownership information, stewardship assignments, and data lineage
• Maintain governance repositories, standards documentation, and supporting materials
• Perform data quality assessments and validation activities
• Monitor data quality metrics, analyze results, and identify data issues
• Support root-cause analysis and remediation efforts for data quality challenges
• Execute testing and validation activities related to governed data assets
• Partner with Data Governance Managers and subject matter experts to capture business knowledge and requirements.
• Prepare governance documentation and recommendations for review and approval
• Populate and maintain enterprise data catalogs and governance platforms
• Support data classification, critical data element identification, and ownership alignment activities
• Maintain documentation and metadata associated with governed data assets
• Support governance communications, training materials, and awareness activities
• Contribute to the standardization and continuous improvement of governance practices and deliverables
