Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Experience with BECS or similar medical data systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enter donor information into BECS following SOPs.
  • Update donor demographic details as required.
  • Process Donor History Questionnaires (DHQs) and reconcile with transport forms.
  • Register donations and deferrals; update records accordingly.
  • Verify data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Reconcile registrations and samples for testing.
  • File and retrieve DHQs as needed; ensure record quality before imaging.
  • Run system queries and generate reports as required.

Job description

The Blood Bank of Hawaii is seeking a Data Entry Clerk to join our Collections team. This role involves entering donor information into our Blood Establishment Computer System (BECS) while following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You’ll also be responsible for updating donor demographic details as required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process Donor History Questionnaires (DHQs) for donations and deferrals.
  • Reconcile DHQs with transport forms and inspect them for accuracy.
  • Search for existing donors or create new records in BECS.
  • Register donations, deferrals, and update demographic information.
  • Verify the accuracy of entered data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Reconcile registrations and samples for testing.
  • File and retrieve DHQs as needed.
  • Ensure the quality of records before imaging and confirm accuracy of imaged files before destroying originals.
  • Run system queries and generate reports as required.
Additional Duties:
  • Support other team tasks as assigned.
