Job summary

Gordon Food Service is offering a 12-week paid Data Engineering internship at our Atlanta Tech Hub. You will architect and optimize data pipelines on the GFS Data Platform, leveraging Python, SQL, and GCP, while learning in a mentorship-rich environment.

You will collaborate with IT and business partners in an agile setting to translate requirements into scalable data solutions and contribute to data lake onboarding and analytics-ready datasets.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related field.
• Authorization to work in the US, GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Interest in data engineering and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Architect, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and CDC using Python, SQL, and GCP.
• Automate repetitive data platform tasks and assist in implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business stakeholders and IT teams in an agile environment to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Onboard new enterprise data sources into the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data lake and manage analytics-ready datasets.

In the Data Engineering department by:

• The intern will contribute to hands-on data engineering initiatives across the GFS Data Platform:
• Architect, optimize, and maintain robust data pipelines and Change Data Capture (CDC) processes using Python, SQL, and GCP infrastructure.
• Automate repetitive data platform tasks and assist in implementing proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business stakeholders and IT teams in an agile environment to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Onboard new enterprise data sources into the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data lake and manage analytics-ready datasets.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related fields
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
