Job summary

Gordon Food Service invites applications for a 12-week IT DevOps internship at our Atlanta Tech Hub. You will work with Cloud DevOps to automate tasks, manage GCP infrastructure, and help optimize CI/CD pipelines while collaborating across IT, finance, HR, and sales.

We offer mentorship, networking, and hands-on experience with containers, scripting, and modern deployment practices. This paid internship supports career exploration in a large North American distributor.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Responsibilities

• Assist in automating tasks and deploying scripts to improve workflows.
• Help manage cloud infrastructure on GCP and container platforms.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and participate in monitoring and incident response.
• Document processes and contribute to team knowledge base.

Build Connections By:

Working alongside our Cloud DevOps department team that serves our customers, employees, and partners across North America and Canada. Collaborating with other Gordon Food Service interns and employees in the following areas:

• Communications
• Finance
• Accounting
• Human Resources
• IT
• Marketing & Merchandising
• Supply Chain
• Sales

Build a Career:

In the IT department by:

• Automation and Scripting: Write and maintain scripts using languages like Python or Bash to automate routine tasks, such as deployments and server provisioning.
• Infrastructure Management: Assist in managing our cloud infrastructure on platforms like GCP using Kubernetes. This includes helping with Kubernetes, virtual machine, container management using Docker.
• CI/CD Support: Work with our engineering teams to improve our CI/CD pipelines. You'll help with building new stages, integrating security scanning tools, and ensuring our code gets from development to production efficiently.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Help set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems to track the health and performance of our applications and infrastructure. Work with other team members to resolve any issues identified.
• Documentation: Create and update clear, concise documentation for our processes and tools, making it easier for the entire team to understand and follow best practices.

Meet the following qualifications to be considered for our 2027 internship program:

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering Degree with Computer Specializations
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher
