Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Atlanta is offering a 12-week paid IT internship in our Tech Hub, aimed at building real-world skills in cloud and devops. You will work with mentors on meaningful projects across IT, Cloud DevOps, and business teams.

You'll gain experience in automation, scripting (Python or Bash), Kubernetes on GCP, Docker, CI/CD, monitoring, and documentation while collaborating with professionals from multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with Computer Specializations.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Responsibilities

• Automation and Scripting: Write and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Infrastructure Management: Assist in managing cloud infrastructure on GCP using Kubernetes, Docker.
• CI/CD Support: Improve CI/CD pipelines with engineering teams.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems.
• Documentation: Create and update clear documentation for processes and tools.

Working alongside our Cloud DevOps department team that serves our customers, employees, and partners across North America and Canada. Collaborating with other Gordon Food Service interns and employees in the following areas:

Build a Career:

In the IT department by:

• Automation and Scripting: Write and maintain scripts using languages like Python or Bash to automate routine tasks, such as deployments and server provisioning.

• Infrastructure Management: Assist in managing our cloud infrastructure on platforms like GCP using Kubernetes. This includes helping with Kubernetes, virtual machine, container management using Docker.

• CI/CD Support: Work with our engineering teams to improve our CI/CD pipelines. You'll help with building new stages, integrating security scanning tools, and ensuring our code gets from development to production efficiently.

• Monitoring and Maintenance: Help set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems to track the health and performance of our applications and infrastructure. Work with other team members to resolve any issues identified.

• Documentation: Create and update clear, concise documentation for our processes and tools, making it easier for the entire team to understand and follow best practices.
